The darn electronic age

My mother has found Facebook. I can't believe it. I'd like to find the bonehead who showed her how to use it and give him a swift kick in the pants. It's not like we're going to be friends or anything (heaven help us), but it's just the thought... Isn't it funny that I don't mind letting complete strangers know what I've been up to or what I think, but it irritates me to know my mother could find out? The thing that I find the most funny is that she even heard of it. Several years ago we got into an argument when she tried to tell me she didn't have the internet, they only had e-mail. Of course her husband would want her to believe that so she couldn't get on the net and find out what he was up to, but the fact that she didn't get how they worked hand in hand still cracks me up. The only thing she used the computer for was to play solitaire!

The weather has turned beautiful - at least for a couple of days. It was 86 today and very sunny! I love it when it's like this. If we could keep the humidity gone all summer... Now I really am dreaming! This weekend it's supposed to get cool and rainy again, but I'm going to enjoy the sun while it's here. I went out and raked part of the back yard yesterday, so of course I'm paying for that today, but it was fun! Tomorrow I'd like to get out and rake underneath the spruce tree in the front yard, but I'll have to see how my back feels.

Finally got a 99.9% sure diagnosis from my rheumatologist last week - spondylarthropathy or, if you don't like long words, sero-negative inflammatory arthritis. So, in other words, don't expect this back pain to go away - ever. Whatever. I'm just grateful that she took the time to actually work with me. I think Dr. K was just getting a little too complacent and seeing him once a year sure wasn't helping much. Dr. W. wants to see me every 3 months for awhile, we're trying some therapy with minocycline and I have to have liver functions checked. If this doesn't work, we'll try something else. Nice to have a health care provider I can work with, instead of being dictated to... Of course it would be nice to get some weight off, but that's hard to do when everything I do makes my legs numb... I should get the Wii Fit back out and see how much I can work with that. Anything is better than nothing. Saw Dr. S. too - got my thyroid checked to make sure everything is staying where it belongs. That's okay this year too! Woo hoo! So far it's starting out to be a good year, health-wise.

I'm going to the doctor with Mirisa and her mom for the next ultrasound on Tuesday - we should hopefully be able to tell if we can buy pink or blue clothes for the new baby! I'm hoping, really, really hoping for a girl, so that means it will probably be a boy... Seriously, I don't care I just want a healthy grandbaby!

I guess that's it for now, I have to get back to work. I had to replace my old keyboard today, it was putting spaces wherever it felt like putting spaces... Very frustrating to type with, so I switched it out with my home computer keyboard. Much easier to work with!

Have a good week!

So, can this person who showed your mother how to use Facebook explain the new friends page to me? I'm irritated that I can't just scroll through and read my friends' status updates anymore.

It is irritating, isn't it?
