Wednesday - finally

I just have to get through today and then I have the next 2 days off. Finally! Cindy has been off work for the past week or so because of surgery and the person I "work" with at night hasn't been able to work for one reason or another at night, so that leaves a heap of work for the rest of us. Last night it just seemed like there were more and more admissions history and physicals to do, I barely scratched the surface with consults and the op reports got left all together. So, of course the discharge summary list just keeps growing and, well, we won't even mention rehab! It's just crazy. In the past when I've worked for national companies it seems like August was really slow and we were having to use vacation time in order to get a full check, but not here! I just hope Cindy recovers quickly and gets back to work!

I guess we are going to the Iowa State Fair on Friday. It's only supposed to be 79 degrees... I hope that's right! I'm so sick and tired of the heat. I'll be glad when fall gets here. If it ever does. Winter is just a dream at this point. I can't even imagine snow! I went shopping the other day and all the fall stuff is out - Younkers was having a winter coat sale. I couldn't hardly bear to look at the stuff. It's hard to imagine wanting a sweater to keep you warm as sweat rolls down your back!

Meg's car trouble continues. She had taken it to Firestone, they told her it would cost over $800 to fix it! Yikes! She just moved into the apartment and sure can't afford something like that. Neither can I. So, Dan knows a guy who works at Aamco, so we took it down there for an estimate. He told us $275, so we had him fix it. We picked it up Monday, she went to a movie with a friend, went shopping and guess what - the car wouldn't start! It's back at Aamco today. Sigh. Why could no one in this family be a mechanic!?

Anyway, I had some errands I wanted to run this morning, but she's got my car again, so here I sit. Bother. Maybe I'll just go to work and be done early. Maybe I'll just go back to bed.

Mel knows Mike Gentile because he's worked on her cars before. Could that be considered an option?

I was just thinking the same thing about the seasons. It doesn't seem like winter was ever here or that I spent most of Jan/Feb shoveling out the snow. Now it's almost here again and I can't believe that it will ever come.

Thanks Miss, but it's finally fixed. I hope. She sent me a text message to see if I was awake at 7:30 (ha ha!) I hope she didn't need a ride or something. I was still sawing logs!
