The end is nigh...

The end of my vacation that is. I've had a great week, although it's ending on a rather sour note. I got my office carpeted and new furniture and I think it looks great. One tiny drawback, it we were missing 2 screws to the desk, but I got online and ordered them and they should be here in 6-8 days and then my desk witll have 2 drawers and the bottom drawer/file cabinet. It smells wonderful in here.

Other Good News - My nephew Tony will be coming home tonight, or really early tomorrow morning, after serving in the Army in Cuba for a year. Yay! We'll be so glad to have him back. I was going to go to the airport with Amber and AJ tonight so I could take some pictures of him, but Amber and I had a slight disagreement about her mother (NO! Can you believe it? The paragon of virtue?) I have absolutely no desire to speak to my sister (Amber's mother). I'm tired of her lying about every darn thing to everybody she talks to and there's just too much negativity in our relationship, so I've decided to just back out. She can have her life with the Lizard, and I hope she has a good one, but I have no desire to be part of it. Amber can't just leave it alone and I'm not going to deal with her any more.

That's right, my baby brother took his maiden jump yesterday. How exciting is that? It looked like so much fun, but I don't think that's something I'm going to add to my bucket list. I'd puke, and that would be embarrassing, but it was a blast to watch him and his friend, Anthony, take their dives. Wish I could have been there is person, but the videos were great.

Renee stopped by last night and since I had just made some homemade biscuits for strawberry shortcake - we indulged in that and had a great visit. I should call her more often, she's so funny and whenever we get together I'm always in a better mood. Maybe I should move to Minneapolis too! Ha ha!

I'm on vacation all week - Yay! I ran some errands today and actually got laundry folded the within the same 24 hours it was done! What a novel idea! I still have to move a ton of crap out of my office, the carpet layers will be here tomorrow at noon, so I've got to have the room empty for them. And a couple shelves up into the closet (that's the worst part). I'm getting out my big garbage bags and going to town! Purge, purge, purge...
