Another beautiful day - in Omaha

Lovely! As a matter of fact, I knew it was so lovely and I had a couple errands to run, so I took off in my AC/DC pajama pants, T-shirt and MIckey Mouse Crocs to go to the pharmacy and the feed store for dog food, no big deal, no body pays attention to you go to the feed store. So, I got my drugs and dog food and came home, only to find out that I was locked out. I have no key to my own house. Which is no big deal when you have a garage keypad, but it is a big deal if the garage door to the inside of the house is locked. Oops. Hmmm. Called mom and Bob, they have a spare, but couldn't reach them. Meg had a key, but she walked to work, so that wasn't going to work. Luckily I foundMatt at 120th & Blondo, so I went to get his key. I was only 5 minjutes late for workl Woo hoo! And I will not leave home again in that attire without first making sure I have a key!

It was gorgeous today!

Not quite as warm as yesterday, but wonderful just the same! Unfortunately, I spent a couple hours having to go up to the hospital for the "meeting", but it was a glorious day to be out driving! Poor puppers, when I got back home I had to go to work, so they didn't get to play catch or anything, but they did get to spent quite a bit of time outside.

Steve called and wanted to know about the meeting. Of course he had to critique everything that I did. Grrrr... I'm going to do what I feel I need to do for myself, if I make a mistake then I'm the one who has to live with it.

I was watching the local weather tonight after I got off work. The local guy was saying that one of their computer models is showing up to 6" of snow on Saturday.... NOOOOOOOOO! I don't want any more snow! Rain I can take, but no more snow! Which all goes to show, if you don't like the weather in Nebraska, just wait a day (or less).

I guess that's it for today.... La, la, la, later....

Ergh

I had to go up to the hospital today for a meeting with my boss and our lead over the fiasco with Slugatha last week. How frustrating. All she did was lay out the "rules" for the umpteenth time, about the orders jobs are supposed to be done, notify each other when taking breaks, etc. Everything we're gotten e-mails and had meetings about before. I guess she thinks this is going to improve the situation. She also said thought my first e-mail to The Slug last week had a "tone" to it. Oh brother. I could say "good morning" to Slugatha and it would have a "tone" to it. Nothing is going to change. I don't know why I care, really. If no one else cares if they pay her for 8 hours of work when she does nothing for at least 4 hours of the night, why do I? So basically, I took 2 hours of my time and 6 dollars worth of gas to hear the same old thing. Frustrating. I should have stayed home in bed. I still have this nasty cold and I feel like I've been hit by a Kenworth. It so wasn't worth the trouble. They're building a hospital in Bellevue - I can always hope she'll get a job there.

Could it be... spring?

I'm afraid to say it out loud, but it was a wonderful day! I still have the creeping crud, so I didn't venture out, except to the backyard, but it was beautiful! I've got about a ton of dog poo in the back yard that needs to be picked up though, but the yard is still kind of mushy, so that's going to have to wait a bit.

I went out with the dogs this afternoon and threw the ball for Sophie until I thought my arm was going to come out of the socket, but she had such a good time I couldn't stop! The tennis ball is definitely an outdoor ball now though, it's totally covered with mud and dirt, no need to have that bouncing off the walls in the house! She wanted to play some more tonight, but I wanted to get some dinner before I went back to work. Toby must have spring fever too, he's been barking nonstop for about the last hour. I'm about ready to find the muzzle for him!

I'd like to get out in the yard and get the old leaves that didn't get raked last fall before the first snow, but I can't remember when they start to pick up yard waste. I sure don't need a bunch of lawn bags sitting around for weeks and weeks. Maybe it's best to let them dry out first. Yeah, that's the ticket.

Later.

If the drinking water sucks, it's spring in Omaha

Since we get our city drinking water from the Missouri River (ewwwww) and in the spring all kinds of odd things show up in the water, extra chemicals are added. I noticed today when I went to take my medicine that it must be spring because the water smelled especially noxious.... Blech.

Ahhhh. A day off...

It was such a nice day today! I love it when I have a day off! I have to thank Mary for stopping by my blog. It was nice talking to you this morning, I hope you get things worked out for your pups - I totally understand your situation with the dogs. Working at home with dogs is just like working at home with toddlers - well, maybe not "just like" - eventually toddlers grow up and you can reason with them. There's no reasoning with a dog! lol!

I had the day off - ya freaking hoo! Darn the daylight savings time though, that always throws me off for a couple weeks to a month! I got up about 9 and fed the dogs and let them out. I decided I really was going to take care of my cold and get some more sleep - so I went back to bed until about 11:30. That was nice. Amber called, since we were supposed to go shopping for Vince's christening outfit, but I don't want him to catch whatever it is I have, so we're going to try that later in the week. I needed to get some more Diet Dr. Pepper, so I showered and dressed and took off for Wal-Mart. I decided to splurge while I was there and get some new phones for the house. The ones we have are awful, so much static and they just have terrible sound quality. I got some new ones, but they have to recharge for 16 hours before you use them. I'm hoping they're an improvement over the old ones. I took a little detour out to see dad before I came home. He's putting tile in his dining room and kitchen - it looks very nice! Mel came over too - it's handy having her live across the street from dad, I can kill 2 birds with one stone and visit them both.

After I left dad's I stopped for some Wendy's chili and came home. I think tonight I'm going to watch a movie or read a little, but I'm going to go to bed relatively early. I have to go to Fremont tomorrow for a bone density scan and have to get up early to get there by 10. Actually I might just reschedule for another time when I have to go to Fremont anyway, it's kind of a pain to have to go up there twice in 2 days. It just feels good to not have t work tonight!

Toby's being his usual snarky self since Steve is gone. If Steve traveled all the time we'd either have to board him or put him down. He almost got me this afternoon right in the forearm, and it wouldn't have been a little nip either. I love my dogs - I love them a lot, but no way am I going to need stitches because my dog has a nasty disposition. Huh uh... Not gonna happen.

Ack! It's almost 8 o'clock already... I really hate daylight savings time, did I already say that? Good, I meant it. I'm going to grab that movie, a heating pad, and call it a night.

Later.
